Koike Aronson Supports Internship Program

Enhancing the future of manufacturing one student at a time

Written by: Michelle Fontaine

In June,  we hired Lucas Jackling, a full-time Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) student for an engineering internship. He currently majors in Mechanical Engineering. I had the chance to know Lucas better during his 12-week internship. I was impressed with how well-mannered and intelligent Lucas was.  While Lucas collaborated with other co-workers, I would often hear the enthusiasm in his voice about the current challenge he was having, and I would hear of the breakthrough which brought he and his team one step closer to finding the perfect solution. Most of the time, I do not know what the Engineering department is working on, but because we have an open floor plan where no enclosed cubicles exist, it is easy to hear other's conversations.

Friday is quickly approaching, not only is it a great day for most because it starts the weekend, but it is Lucas' last day here at Koike Aronson. Yes, the fun has come to an end my friend! Many of us Koike employees have contributed to take part in a pizza party during our lunch break for Luke, mostly as a Farewell/We will miss you type of party. I don't make it a habit to speak on behalf of others, but I can say that I know many have had a pleasant working experience with Luke!

"I really enjoyed my internship here as I was given a fair amount of challenges and responsibilities which greatly enhanced my experience; I couldn't have asked for a better internship." Luke was really candid while talking with me. He's a great guy and a hard worker!

We wish you great success, Lucas, and hope that our paths may cross again in the future, preferably right after you have graduated!
