Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Department: 290 - Maintenance

Labor Grade: Hourly – 1st Shift                                                                                                               

SUMMARY
Maintains the structural integrity of the plant and offices.  Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturing specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment such as production machine tools, cranes, hoists, pumps, compressors, engines, motors, and pneumatic tools.  Performs the following specific duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned.

Responds to production machine tool breakdowns and initiates repair procedures to return equipment to full operation to limit downtime. 

Dismantles machine tools to access and remove defective electrical and/or mechanical components.  Inspects used components for failure or excessive wear and replaces as necessary.  Run tests and fine tunes machine before releasing to operator.  May lubricate as required.

Installs, repairs, and maintains building electrical, lighting, heating, plumbing, and sprinkler systems.

Constructs, repairs, and installs counter tops, cabinets, new building partitions, doors, building framework, trim, and maintains floor surfaces throughout the facility.  May build cabinets and other wooden framework in carpenter shop. May install glass in windows, doors, and partitions. 

Replaces spent fluorescent light tubes and/or ballasts, damaged ceiling tile, floor tile, and wall coverings.

Installs items such as window blinds, curtain rods, wall fans, and door lock sets. May assist in moving and/or relocating plant and office equipment.

May operate lawn maintenance equipment (Spring-Summer-Fall) and shovel, blow snow, and plow walkways and driveways during the Winter months.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Title: Machine Builder

                                                                                                                 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Fits and assembles machine components according to assembly blueprints and knowledge of machine construction to construct, rebuild, and repair machines and equipment, using hand and power tools. 
Vocational training, two to three years of actual experience, blue print reading, shop mathematics, machine construction and design, welding, and the use of shop measuring instruments are required.  
Travels to customer location, when necessary, to repair equipment or assist in machine assembly. 
Welding background is a plus. 
Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally.

Starting rate depends on experience.
