The Vertical Up Welder (VUP), known for its exceptional single-pass capability, efficiently completes 10-12 vertical seams on an 8-foot tall, 1-inch thick field-erected storage tank within a single work shift, achieving X-ray quality welds with just one operator and machine.
The VUP features a frame consisting of a vertical column attached to a powered carriage and roller assembly, gliding smoothly along the tank shell's upper edge. Its intuitive lift controls manage a variable-speed motor integrated with the welding control, maintaining an optimal nozzle-to-weld puddle relationship.
Equipped with a Lincoln NA-3 head and control, along with two K-176 Nozzles for welding with 3/32" or .120" diameter NR-431 Innershield wire, the VUP allows precise and efficient welding operations.
